Smallbore F Class and the NRA

Does anyone know if the NRA has gone past provisional stage for Smallbore F Class? Making it an official discipline. I know they had a meeting couple months ago.
Thanks again

Thank you for posting this information.

A local Club here in NJ ( The Cumberland Riflemen ) will begin to shoot monthly SB F Class starting in the Spring.

The intrest in SB F Class in growing tremendously. It should be made into a regular discipline.

Yeah, we should be graduating from provisional any time but I'm not sure how much difference it really makes.

We got (2) nationals.

Iggy is making every MD in the northeast accept us :)

Most importantly - I got my Smallbore F-Class Master card!!!!!

Congratulations on your Master Card.

Pennsylvania was never an issue , New Jersey too several e mails and phone calls.

Now on to New York and Connecticut!!! ;)

Not familiar with F-Smallbore but why not shoot @ 200 or more? I use 200 yd. NRA conventional targets for Palma training in the winter. Seems everyone could use the wind reading challenge. Is there a dedicated F-SB target with appropriately 1/2 sized X, 10 and 9 rings?

200 would be a fun addition to smallbore fclass. For 100 yard there is no xring just anything inside 10 ring and not touching the line is a x. I might have to have a 20 moa base to reach 200.

I want my 22 to get back from the smith i can do my fclass and br league in 2 days. Going insane not being able to go plinking, and its only been a week or two.

I would strongly suggest putting a 20moa rail on as soon as you get it back. They're easily available and easy to install for the savage. My mk2 shoots fine from 25 to 200 with the rail with zero problems.
I don't know why 20 moa is not the standard setup. Seems to me 0 moa just wastes half the adjustment of the scope.

The immediate reason is because f-sbr is growing from sling smallbore and they're well established at 50 and 100.
Apparently there was a historical period where 200yd smallbore was relatively common but they moved away from it.
I would guess range availability is part of it.

The official f-sbr targets are the 50yd,50m, and 100yd international/metric targets. There is a 200 yd target in that series but I think it is very rare in the US. Most of the 200 yd rimfire shoots I've heard of use something more common. We considered the a25 smallbore 100yd conventional target and some others for today's match but ended up using the mr52 centerfire 200yd reduced prone target. Seemed to be a decent choice, top 3 scores were 295,294,294. I had the 295 :):):)

Looks like this might be fun.

How's a typical match conducted? 4x5 on the small (50yd) targets, 2x10 on the large (100yd) targets? Twenty minute time limit? Any rules regarding suppressors?

yes
yes
yes
no suppressors(or brakes). Flash hider or thread protector ok.

See the post above on a postal match for 1 example of an exact course-of-fire

Thanks kzin.

I read the guide for the 'postal' version, but your 295 (out of 300 possible - I'm guessing two matches w/15 rds each?) threw me off a bit. Very nice score with a .22LR at 200yds if I have all that right, considering the MR52 target has a ~3.75" 10-ring.

mine was a local non-sanctioned first time at 200 yard event, not following smallbore norms or even exactly the CoF we usually use for 100 yard mini-palma.

3 x 10, I would have preferred 3x15 but the event MD was adamant for 10.

Thanks, though with an annie54 on a sinclair rest on a dead air day I was a little disappointed to drop 5. The two guys right behind me both came within a point shooting SLING! That's either embarrassing for me or really good for them.

Our clubs postal matches, im sure anyone can become a member and shoot them, are total of 120 shots. 40 at 50 yards or 5×8. Then a dewar match which is 20 at 50 yard and 20 at 100 yard or 5×4 and 2×10. Then 40 at 100 yard or 4×10.
