Small rifle primers for weak firing pin spring

I am also a RPR owner. As I understand things, the firing pin spring for the RPR is considered a proprietary item by Ruger. It requires special permission by a supervisor at Ruger for sale to the public. I have seen this discussed on several websites and have not read of anyone successful in getting a replacement sent to them. Nor have I read of anyone sending their rifle or bolt back the Ruger for replacement.

Wow. For me, that's a non starter. The firing pin spring is proprietary and they won't sell it individually? Just wow.
