SINCLAIR COMPETITION SHOOTING REST

Can anyone using one of these rests tell me whether they will accomodate a stock with a 5" forend and if so does protector or edgewood make a bag to fit?

Chuck I am not familiar with Sinclair but the guys just put new tops on there rests to get 5 inches. Most use a Hart 6 inch and get a 5 inch bag from Protector. The 5 inch bag has thicker ears making it a 5 inch with a 6 inch top. Protector will make whatever you want and even has that new silver slippery material. Matt

Mine won't unless you use a different top. If you have a gun that's heavy I'd advise against the sinclair rest to be honest. It flexes way too much too my liking. If there were a way to change out the large center colum to something more solid then it may be ok but once it extends it flexes horribly.

The tolerances on the primary rise is not very tight. Once you extend the primary up so far, this leaves less material inside the base to provide the rigidity. The only solution is the machine a new primary rise column and make it longer. Once you do this, its solid all the way up. A tighter fitting post wouldn't hurt either.

To get by, make sure the nub on the lock fits nice and flat against the milled section on the primary rise column and post. The flat area on the nubs might have a nipple raised up on it from machining. Flatten it.
