Sinclair Bullet Comparator

Hello All,
I have the usual Sinclair comparator that uses the digital indicator and the collets to measure base to ogive length, i want to convert it to read the bearing surface length. Is it just a matter of changing the base collet, and also coming up with something to attach to the indicator

Any help or ideas would be great

Thanks

DMC

Good Morning, Jim. Please take me to school on this subject, benefits of measuring the bearing surface and would you happen to have pictures of your setup. I have the Sinclair stand with my own (better) indicator and currently sort by BTOG length. Thanks, LG.

Call John Hoover at Accuracy One he has what you are looking for. They attach to the stem of your indicator with a set screw. I bought some a while back, but I now do all my measurement with a Bob Green Comparitor, a little pricey but my ammo is now within .001 or better on cartridge base to ogive. Anyway if bearing surface is your choice, John will fix you up. JVON PS you can still use the base.

LG, If you get on the daily bulletin and scroll down you will find pics. It is one sold by Tubb and now sold by Mark King and John Hoover. The other one is set up to measure seating depth on a loaded round. What is the advantage ? reduce vertical…… I think you will see that all winning long range shooter do a bearing surface measurement. Base to ogive is a flat base thing and i don't think you will see it in used in long range. …… jim
