Sinclair all purpose windage top

Hi all...I just picked up one of these used and was just wondering of your thoughts, experiences, opinions etc...any good and are they slippery enough?? Thanks guys (&gals if any)

Have 3 Sinclair tops, 1 non windage all purpose, and 2 windage, one 3" benchrest and one all purpose. Recently switched over to the cordura front bag and much prefer it over the thin black leather. No lube required, and the rifle forends slide like they are on roller bearings.

Thanks much fd..I think a guy can retrofit the leather with a cordura...what you say makes perfect sense...best wishes

Wood stock or fiberglass?

I bought 2 condura bags to use. One on a woodstock. Then someone suggested that the condura ruins the finish on the fore end. So I have a leather bag on order.......

Using the cordura bag with 3 fiberglass stocks: a Kelbly, Robertson, and a McMillan. Don't see any signs of damage, yet, but I'll keep a close watch.

MaxOwner: O.K. and with that in mind if I were using my wood stock's in the cordura bags I would consider the clear stock tape as sold by Sinclair to protect the finish. The majority of my wood stocked rifles are varmint type and with their narrow forends, angled surface on the underside of the buttstock, and checkering, they are not good candidates for me off the front Sinclair rest. I actually get better groups, most of the time, using a Harris bi-pod.
