Signs That A Scope Has Gone Bad?

Scope rings don’t always play well together, we recently put a couple scopes on the SC and noticed one was shifting up and right just slightly , after re adjusting rings to base the scope moved down and right. Is that the scope or signs the connection was the culprit ??

I had a Steiner 6 power mounted on my 22. This is about 30 years ago. I was shooting offhand, and the reticule (wire) dropped towards the bottom of the scope. That surprised me, but not as much as when I tried to get it warranted. Stayed away after that.

Swap scope, problem goes away

That's my version of a "scope checker" -- a known-good scope.

Thanks for the kind word. Unfortunately, the only one I have left is my personal one. I suspect a WTB ad in the classifieds might turn one up.
