Signature and ID for Fedex Shipments?

Just recently I had FEDEX deliver from Brownell and they asked for a signature (common) but also asked to have the ID scanned.

Have you guys noticed that as well with shooting related deliveries? Or FEDEX has started asking for signatures and ID scans for all deliveries.

The delivery guy said we do that on all deliveries. I did not believe him.

Thanks

I can't believe that. I get some deliveries to my house but. most are put in mail box about 1/4 mile out on main road. Never signed for anything, had a delivery today put in mailbox of course. I even called FedEx about this numerous times.

For Haz Mat they want to deliver directly to a person. Can't leave at door from Brownell's
Didn't asks for a signature.
Have had 2 regular (not from Brownell's or Haz Mat ) deliveries from Fed-Ex since and just
left at door.
UPS just leaves at door.
I think this is a Brownell's thing.

Signature I can understand but scanning ID?? I will call Brownell and ask. I hope I can get a valid answer vs some young kid picking up the phone and trying to push me off.

I use Fedex for most shipments. When creating the shipper you have the options for signature, adult only, and others. The shipper is the one asking for it. Each driver then seems to have some discretion, right or wrong, depending on their knowledge of the person/place they are delivering. If it requires an adult signature, I can see some drivers will want to scan an id to cover their a--.

Just spoke to Brownell.

The signature requirement has been around for FLL and for HAZMAT deliveries. FEDEX just started the ID requirement to make sure the person accepting the order is of age. However, I can refuse the scanning and just have them verify the age by looking at the ID.

I had a hazmat delivery by FedEx this past Sunday, he said he needed to "scan" my ID, so I had to go get my DL. He just scanned the bar code on the back of the DL, don't think he even looked to see that it was my DL, driver just said it was required, but he didn't know why. Did not sign for the package.

UPS just left an order from Midway with 1500+ bullets, just left the box on the front porch.

Haven't had to sign for anything since the corona started. Fedex, USPS, or UPS. Not even Hazmat stuff. I caught the Fedex driver out front one day & he said he hasn't been required to get signatures since the scamdemic started. OK by me. The doorbell doesn't work.

Wait. 20,000 primers? You gotta say more about that.
Natchez, had a 10k limit. Bought 10k 205m and 10k standard 210. Saves a bunch on haz mat. I think they are limiting primers to 5k per kind per order now. They go fast though. I’ve missed out on several. Natchez has had CCI 400s in stock all day, 5k limit, if anyone can use them.
