Sightron

Anyone using a SV 10x50x60 ED? How and what scope would you compare the glass to? Any pros and or cons.? Looking at the target dot zero stop model. Who makes their glass lenses?

I've used one for several years in Ftr. Based on limited comparison I judge the optical quality just shy of a NF Comp, and very superior to Vortex GE. But this subjective and dependent upon each individual. I believe glass is made in Japan. Bottom line is it fully suits my needs and I am not considering a replacement.

i have a couple of sightrons..but not this one..
as a scope it has several things going for it
34mm tube
ed glass
good power
i look at top end only, but i think( my opinion) msrp is high.
look at march and valdada
try to find one to look at outside before buying
what will it be used for ??

Love it..my Favorite for now.
I also have a March X HM and the NF comp....
I like the Sightron for my eyes the best.
However they are all more than adequate at 1000 yds and F-Class shooting.

I like mine a lot but my only comparison is a GE that I have as well. If you are trying to make weight for a certain class they are HEAVY.

I have the 27202. The glass in it is very good. For my eyes probably a little better contrast than my ATACR.
There are a couple things I don't care for. One is the zero stop. It works but there are better designs out there. The other is the line that you line up with the elevation turret marks is down on the scope tube. It isn't really visible if you're sitting down at a bench.

I like mine. The glass is both very clear and very bright. I can see 6mm bullet holes with my 74 year old eyes at 500 yards, if they don't bisect a line. POA and repeatability is 100%. Mine does not have a zero stop, but none of my other scopes do either. I can both read and count.

I've got 2 27008. Got rid of a March and Kahles for them. The parallax adjustment is worth the price of admission. Glass is Japanese, but no clue who, and it was the best for my eyes out of the others, including NF and GE. If you are close on weight, they are pigs. I don't know if I see the point in zero stop for this kind of a scope, but I only shoot known distances and slow fire.

If you decide on the SV you'll wait awhile to find one for sale used. I gave up looking last year, and bought one from Lance. That might tell you something about them.

I had 3 scopes in mind; both the others more expensive. I have no regrets with the Sightron SV.
