Sightron?

I just ordered a Savage LRPV in 6MM Norma BR.
I will be needing a scope and rings and want to ask the members
what would be a good option for 1-300 Yard informal bench shooting?
I have looked at Sightron 10-50 x60 and that seems like a good amount of magnification for 70 year old eyes.
Budget around $1000-1200.

Golden eagle is a little over the budget.
I understand how you might have a little hard time understanding how I can
hesitate for only a few hundred bucks on the price of a scope.
Keep in mind I'm starting from scratch here and will only be shooting with friends at our club.
I bought the rifle today.
I need a good scope.
I need rings, a rest, dies.
I would like a crono to work on loading but thats a ways off.
Lab radar and shot marker system is out of my reach let alone a 5-7000$ rifle.
Thanks for your understanding guys!

At 300 you don't need over much over 40 power especially when the mirage kicks up. I'm pushin 70 and my good eye (my nickname ain't one eye Pete cause I have binocular vision) ain't what it used to be. The main problem I have is seeing the reticle on the target in all light conditions. The nightforce competition is a great scope but the reticles they have are just too fine for my old eye. If you do choose Nightforce the DDR-2 is the best.
My favorite scope for the price to use at that distance is a Sightron Slll 8-32 with the MOA-2 reticle. I had Sightron convert my old one to 1/8 clicks for a very reasonable price. You can't beat Sightron service.
Whatever you do don't but a Sightron (or any scope) with a fine crosshair reticle if your eyes aren't what they used to be. The Sightron MOA-2 is a fairly heavy reticle with a center dot that is easy to see and put on the target in all light conditions.
The Vortex Golden Eagle is a good scope but the ECR-1 reticle is very fine and can also be hard to see at times (I have one and it is now on my anschutz 22 for short range.

For a 6BR Norma go with a Harrell's full length bushing die and a LE Wilson straight line seater. They are fairly inexpensive and as good as it gets. Just send Harrell's 3 cases ( fired 3 times) and they will fix you up with a near custom die for your chamber. For rings Burris signature Z rings. Cheap and good. I have all this stuff for my 6mmbr LRPV.

Shooting to 300 yrs a crony is the last thing you need......by a mile. Get a good scope!,

Looking at the reticle pictures on the Sightron website it seems all their reticle are thick. Is this how they look in real life?
