Honestly, I just want to give one a try. The scope I want for my next rifle is a FFP and I wanted to try one out at a lower price point before I spend a lot more for something only to find out that I really didn't want it. If I don't like it, I feel like it would be easier to get rid of than a SFP. That's the way I've been looking at it.
I thought the same thing, so I bought a FFP crimson trace (can’t remember the model) and a FFP Burris veracity 4-20 all in one whack. Ran them both a couple of months and sold both of them at a pretty large discount to a guy. Could just be the reticles that I dealt with, but I don’t like the fact that the reticle size changes. Too thin for hunting on low power, too thick for target shooting on high power. Didn’t like relying on illumination for hunting at low power in low light. Just my opinion.
