Sightron SIII 8-32 x56 reviws???

Anyone have an reviews of the sightrons with all the hash marks much less sightrons optics on the 8-32x56 scopes???

Just mounted a Sightron SIII 8-32x56 side focus on my 6.5AI. Shot two 1.5 inch 5 shot groups at 300 metres with Berger 140 gr BT Long Range Target.

Excellent optics, crystal clear. Very positive clicks on the windage, elevation knobs.

Not sure what you mean by the `hash marks`. Are you referring to the graduations on the side focus? There are no numbers but I have never found the numbers on the focus band on any scope, side or front focus, to mean anything. When focusing while shooting, you are looking through the scope and never see the numbers anyway.

I am going to use the scope this coming Saturday at a 1000 yd F Class practise and look forward to comparing its performance to previous scopes.

I think he is referring to the MOA reticle that Sightron is coming/came out with. I can't comment on that side of it, but I do know that my brothers 8-32x56 is crystal clear, as good as a fellow shooters 12-42 NF BR to my eyes. I was so pleased with what I saw, I have one in the mail as we speak :)

The MOA reticle may be a nice feature to some, but for F-class, in my opinion, having each space be 2MOA at max power is too coarse. The center dot is .25MOA at max power and that is also too coarse for my liking. The scope I am getting is the LR TD which is a fine cross hair with an 1/8 dot. Since we are shooting the "new" 1/2 MOA target, I feel like I can part the V-bull better than I could with anything larger. The POS I have now has a thick mil-dot reticle that makes me curse every time I look through it...

Again, this is just my opinion, but what I think is agreed upon across the board, is that Sightron has very good optics, especially at it's price. You could pay a LOT more for something that would only equal its clarity.

I finally received my SIII LRMOA and mounted it on my 7STW. Compared side by side with NF, IOR, and Nikon Tactical it is top of the class in terms of optical quality. Clicks are much more positive than older scopes. Shooting 1K groups in 102 degree Texas heat, the target was crystal clear on 32x. Least mirage of any scope I've used near this price range. Shot a 4" 3-shot off sand bags, then dialed back down to 500yds for a head shot on a sheep silhouette, followed by a bull @ 100. you can't beat this scope for under $2000. Just ordered a 6-24 to go with it.

I was under the assumption that mirage would look the same regardless of the quality of the glass. A Sightron set at 32x should display the same mirage as any other scope set to 32x. Am I wrong about that?

Realized mirage is definitely effected by the quality of the glass and it's optical coating. Obviously, the higher the power, the worse the mirage will be amplified. But looking through a March or S&B, it's definitely not going to be as big of a factor as if you were peering through a Barska or Redfield. The Greater the light transmission and anti-reflective coating, the better the picture under any given condition. A BR shooting buddy of mine and I were comparing the scopes, and we agreed there was a noticeable difference. The 1K target was swimming bad enough that with the other scopes we were not able to hold the 1/8" dot in the bullseye. With the Sightron, we could.

I'm curious how people like the "floating" center dot versus a standard crosshair and dot? I've been tempted to get a 8-32 with the MOA for F-Class, but I wonder if I'd be better with a standard target dot set up.
