Sightron scopes opinons?

I was hoping to see if people were having good luck with the Sightron scopes. I have been seeing a lot of sales on the SII series and was thinking of giving them a try. The price is right and looks like they have a good guarantee but I don't have a place local to look at them. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Jaredec,
Give Billy Stevens a call. He is a smith in Alabama, won the Super Shoot with a Sightron scope.

Ron Hoehn also won the SS with a Sightron 36X. I have two of them and like them a lot. The have good glass and nice click adjustments. Keep in mind that most of the Leupold, Weaver, and Sightron's on the line at a shortrange BR match have some sort of a modification to "lock the internals" after adjustment is made. The one piece of equipment that no one seems to trust is the scope.

I have several including a 6X24 Slll with side focus and 30mm tube. Damned good scope for the money. Are there better scopes? Yes! Are there better scopes for the money? No!

I noticed that Midway is advertising a new line of Sightron scopes and wrote and e-mail to Sightron for more information. Apparenlty the current SII models are being upgraded with better glass and a 360 degree rather than the current 720 degree AO rotation.

According to the folks at Sightron, the difference is "amazing". The new models aren't scheduled to be available until late February or early March.

I've heard the rumors also and I'll probably be one of the first guniea pigs. Midway is not the cheapest place to shop for optics however so if it isn't on sale, I wont buy from them. I'm sure Lester Bruno and Ron Hoehn will have a much better price than Midway has listed for the new scopes. The Bruno and Hoehn price is about the same as the sale price Midway has advertized right now to the SII 36X.

Thanks for the info. Looks like I might want to wait for the upgraded SII in March. I have been looking at 6-24X and the 4.5-14X SII models. They both have "low profile target knobs". Does anyone know if these have a zero set feature like the Leupolds?
