Sightron Scope

Ref Sightron 10-50x60 line of scope can anybody tell the good and/or bad points.
Would you use high or extra high ring?
How is the picture when set on 50 power?
Thanks for your time

The new ones don't have any bad points, the older ones seemed to have mushy clicks, the new ones don't.
The rings will depend on what your using for a base, and the diameter of your barrel..
Use rings that will put the scope as close to the barrel as possible..
Never seen a problem with the picture when set at 50X......

I use High rings and have a EGW 20 MOA base and a heavy varmint contour barrel. It barely clears with the sunshade on.

I think my scope is clear as can be and very nice to look through. Very positive turret clicks. No complaints as of yet.

I have a pair of NF's, but for less than a K the Sightron is great, I have not shot it at less than 50x and its been on my gun for 6 months through summer and now winter ( Australia) were upside down remember.
I think its now 3 guys from my club have purchased them since I got one, the price clarity and function is great.

I have a 10-50x56 Sightron; the glass seems clearer than my 12-42x56 NXS. What I don't like about the Sightron is that you need to count from the turret '0' versus from the bottom of the turret as with other scopes; the Sightron turrets range are marked from the '0' plus/minus '3'

I just got one in today and I like it already. I'm actually surprise in how good it is at 50 power I had a 8x32x56 NXS and a sightron and still have the sightron I spent about three hours trying to put the NXS over the SIII and couldn't so I kept the sightron and sold the NXS if I were driving nails with my scope I probably would have kept the Nightforce but I shoot paper. I here the new competition scopes are supposed to the cats meow but there sure is a lot for sale used already so not sure what's that's about Id save 1000 and buy the SIII and never look back but that's just my .02

I have one and really like it , have looked through many scopes at our range here at Piedmont Gun Club and in my eyes i can't see any difference between higher priced scopes NF , March, only thing i have noticed on mine is the side focus is really touchy and stiff but works really well , clicks are clean and audible and repeatability is awesome, mine is a 10x50x60 great scope. As far as the touchy side focus and being stiff probably a good thing as far as taking in and out of case. As the rings go i have a Bat action with Bat high rings and my gun has a HV barrel and the flip up lens cover that came with mine just barley touch the barrel.

I bought mine cause its the only quality scope available today with a fine x hair reticule. I use Farrel high rings and the objective just barely clears the heavy Krieger barrel on my Rem 700. I use the 50 power seldom because mirage then becomes a serious problem. I have been able to see 6mm holes at 500 with it.

The rubber scope covers are a POS.

I just tried my new 10x50 yesterday and all I can say is WOW! Clear, bright, great eye relief, etc. Side focus no problem on mine. I have the target dot and for shooting holes in paper it works well for me. I've got it mounted on Weaver Tactical 6-hole Picatinny Extra Tall rings and have about 1/4 inch clearance over the barrel.

I also found that a 62mm camera lens cap fits perfectly on the front bell and costs under 10 bucks. Now I need something for the rear!

as far as ring height I have a defiance deviant with :20 moa rail and I used TPS tall rings and have maybe an 1/8 inch clearence but I have a straight 1.250 straight tube on mine. don't think I could get a heat shield between it and the barrel though
