Sightron 10-50x60

Guys using the Sightron 10-50x60, What rings do you use?? Will high rings work or extra high? I'm ordering for a Predator LA with 20 moa rail.

If you use a picatinny style rail and use Burris Extreme Tactical MEDIUM rings you will have about 1/8" clearance on a 1.250" straight tube barrel.. If you need / want more height, then go to a higher ring. However, I have noticed that ring-height varies from one manufacturer to another>>> so be careful!

They are excellent! However, they come in dual packages (2 rings) and for whatever reason they also come in individual packages. I bought 2-individual packs one time (they were out of the dual packs) and had a problem. One was 10K "higher" in the base and when I mounted them on my rail, I could not get the elevation DOWN far enough to sight in at 100-300 yards. I switched them around and it worked perfectly. So do NOT buy the individual ones>>just the ones with 2 in a package! Besides, why in the world would they sell individual packs?? Makes NO SENSE to me!! They have the added benefit that even though they do not have plastic inserts, via the Signature ZEE rings, they do not scratch the scope finish and make "ring-marks"!!

I have those rings in high on my factory savage with the sightron and EGW 20min rail. It gives me around 1/2" gap between barrel and scope. The rings are great quality. Matt

I have high's in a Ruger with 50mm scope and probably have 1/4" gap so I was wondering! I will be smart and measure before I order them.. I hate waiting all the time though, it would be nice just to order them ahead of time..

I've got the Weaver Picatinny 6-Hole rings in Extra High. They fit my 8-32 Vortex and will fit my new 10-50 Sightron when I get it in. They are SOLID and well made and I've seen no marks on the Vortex after any of my re-mounts. And, Midway has them on sale for $30 or so.

I have an EGW 20 MOA base and use HIGH model Sig Zee rings and it just barely clears the barrel. I have a Savage Varmint contour barrel. Mediums would be all-but touching the barrel in my set up

I have a 10-50x60 Sightron on my Bat B model with Bat high rings and you can't get a heat shield under it, my rings have 20MOA in them also have to attach shield in front of scope It's a Heavy varmit contour.

I think high is as low as you could go and be comfortable with it. If you have an adjustable cheek piece then it would not be an issue with proper cheek weld and you would have some room under the scope/sunshade before touching the barrel

Here is my 10-50x with a 20MOA base and High rings. This is without the sunshade and the mirage shield on

I am using an EGW 20 MOA base with Leupold PRW high rings. Even with the 3" sunshade I have about a 1/4" clearance to the barrel on my Savage 12 BR.

I have two Sightron 10-50x60 scopes both mounted on Savage Model 12 Target rifles. Both have a EGW 20 MOA base. The one mounted on the F T/R .308 uses medium EGW rings and barely clears the barrel but it works ok. Latter when I mounted the second one on the F Class 6 BR I ordered the EGW tall rings and the scope fits much better. I have been very satisfied with my Sightron/EGW setups.

My Winchester is set up with a EGW 10 MOA base with TPS medium TRS series rings, the scope bell is 0.103" above the barrel... My barrel diameter in front of my Sightron 10x50x60 is 1.230" with a 0.993" muzzle... Here's the math formula I use...

[Rail/Base Height + Ring Height] - [Bell Diameter X 0.5] =

Steve

With tolerances held to .0002 and radiused edges and corners to prevent snagging and I kinda think steel is what I want this time around the TPS appears to be what I'm gonna order..Can't really beat the price either ($79) even with the Harrell double screw are $90...

Just an FYI on an unrelated matter. If you're looking for a better front lens cap for the 10x50, a 62mm camera lens cap works just fine and costs less than $10.

Now, back to our regularly scheduled programming! ;D

I just bought and mounted my 10-50x60 and I have defiance deviant with integrated 20moa rail and high TPS rings and they barely clear my 1.250 straight barrel but it clears it though

krktractor Barely works for me, I am using a Predator with 20 moa rail and now thinking of the TPS rings.. How do you like them as far as quality?
