Hmm, that could probably be done with some time a plastic. I also read about guys cutting the front of their mag out to run longer COL. Maybe I will have to play with it. Eric said my new looooong range pistol should be ready to pick up next week so I better hurry up playing with the AR. Thanks Steve

You know this is one area of firearms that hasn't really been investigated much--that is, the application of the VLD magazine for long polymer-tipped bullet applications for sniping predators at long distance with the AR's. It's a small niche but it's there. I am seriously thinking about the 22X47 with some mods to one of the VLD magazines/custom upper to shoot the 69 TMK to long-range. We'll see how that goes.

My hunting buddies shoot the 80.5 gn Berger from their 22x47s at about 3450, so the 69tmk in that cartridge would be an absolute screamer! I have a 22 creedmoor reamer and spare .473 bolt sitting on the shelf and have contemplated punching out a 9tw 20" 223 for S&G's. It should be about the same thing.
