Sierra Publishes 6mm Creedmoor Load Data

Now why is this better than 243?
I think it's a perception/reality deal. 6mm Creedmoor has factory rifles with 8" or faster twist and factory match ammo with heavy bullets (105gr plus) readily available. If you build a rifle with a 7-8' twist and hand load I'm not convinced there's any significant difference. If you're going to load 110 gr SMKs, the 6mm Creed may have a slight advantage if you're going to use a DBM, but even this may be irrelevant with the mags (American Rifle Company and Alpha Mag come to mind) that have 2.9" plus of internal length.

Looks like the 6mm Creedmoor can take some serious pressure. Judging by the velocities Sierra published.

SAAMI MAP for 243 is 60k psi. There isn't yet a SAAMI MAP spec for the 6mm Creedmoor, but since it is a necked down 6.5mm Creedmoor, one may reasonably infer that it is loaded to meet the latter's 62k psi pressure constraint.

Chuckhawks.com has an interesting article on 243 vs. 6mm Creedmoor: http://www.chuckhawks.com/compared_243_6mmCreedmor.html
