that is insane...wowNo doubt Sierra makes a very accurate bullet hands down. The problem I have is when you buy a 500 cnt box and the bullets come off of 4 different machines, effectively giving you 4 different bullets. I asked them if you could request them from the same machine and they said "no" as they are a mass produced bullet. Seems strange to me as they are marketed as a match grade bullet.

Yes, I was shocked when I shot some at a SR benchrest match in my .22BR varmint rifle that always agged in the low 3's, when the first group was a nice .767!! There went that match and a waisted 150 mile round trip. I was not real happy to say the least. Lol.that is insane...wow
And i thought i was loosing my mind......Shoot a one hole group load up a hundred get mixed results??No doubt Sierra makes a very accurate bullet hands down. What's even more nutty is they requested I send in a sample of bullets from the 500 box. Which I did, and then they tell me that the bullets are within their tolerance for a mass production bullet. Say what? The bto on these bullets varied by .025 ! Wait what? Lol.And i thought i was loosing my mind......Shoot a one hole group load up a hundred get mixed results??
quadruple check my reloading skills shoot another one hole group repeat same..Talked with some people who are in the know get told the same thing(several machines) i would of never thought that, why would you mix them makes no sense (common sense)..

Mike,OMG, I might have to rethink this!
To be fair, are the other brands doing the same?
Good looking out Paul and posting your expectations with the BK's. I wasn't going to have an issue with spending a little more, but now. I'm thinking I will eliminate Sierra from my bullet lineup for load development.Mike,
I have not seen it in other brands that I shoot. That being Hornady and Berger. Hornady and Berger in bulk have been great. Just baffles me that Sierra does this, as they make a great bullet in many different calibers.

How about just buying them in 100 ct. boxes? Would the 5 boxes with the same lot number wrapped in cellophane be off the same machine? No doubt Sierra makes a very accurate bullet hands down. I am unsure who you heard from but Sierra would not have mixed bullets from different dies, presses or different material in the same box. Any time we change anything in the system a new lot is created. Every green box has a lot number that is traceable back to the lead, copper, press and dies used. I wondered if this would stir the pot and Sierra might catch wind of this thread. Good to know it did. I also see this is your first post. Where you asked to address this and had to register in order to do so Kaleb? I have total respect for someone who defends their product!I am unsure who you heard from but Sierra would not have mixed bullets from different dies, presses or different material in the same box.
