Sierra BlitzKings

Seems I'm reading a lot of you really like the performance of the BlitzKings, but just don't want to spend the extra money on them opposed to the Vmax, BT or VMG's. Also, reading there are hard to get in bulk.

I'm getting ready to purchase all four bullets mentioned in 100ct packs to have ready for load development. If the BlitzKing's outperform in accuracy and hearing the devastation they have in the rat patch, to me is a no brainer and to pony up the extra coin.

My rat patch guns will consist of a 17FB (25g), 20VT (32g), 20P (36g) and 223 (40g). I realize that Sierra doesn't make 17 cal bullets and hoping that I will find accuracy in either a Vmax or Varmageddon.

I don't know what kind of bullet count you guys do a year, but I'm planning 1k for each cartridge listed above. Perhaps that count will not be needed, as I've heard the rats are dwindling! I'm just wondering if I'm misunderstanding something.

I'm going to try the 70 BlitzKing in a 6CM.
Those 70 grain Blitz Kings were devastating out of my 6mm AI.
They are tough to beat accuracy wise (on paper) and at least as explosive as the 75 grain vmax or more.
This was based on eastern ground hogs and foxes.
Also used the 55 grain BKs a bunch out of 22-250s and the Swift.
Give me the green boxes for the win! :p

Some years ago, I did a test with 50g Sierra Blitz Kings,50g V max, and 50g Nosler Ballistic Tips in a 22/250 with the President of PMC ammo. They were testing to see which bullet blew up squirrels the best to load in their factory ammo.

We shot 250 straight of each bullet. There was absolutely no contest on which bullet could launch the ground squirrels over the top of the irrigation walker arm, the blitz kings. The V max was second, with a distant third going to the ballistic tips.

Also, the blitz kings have a "match" grade jacket for uniformity.

I shot a lot of the Sierra 50/55g lead tip blitz bullets, which are incredibly accurate with a top end velocity of 3600 in 12/14 twists. The old Hornady SX was a great bullet for ground squirrels with reduced velocity.

52g speer Hp are like flying trash cans on ground squirrels, accurate also.

Thats great news! Back in the day, I was using the Nosler BT's 40, 50 and 55 in both a 223 and 22-250. I was impressed. Then I shot side by side with a friend using the BlitzKing. like you said, no comparison. So, if I get the accuracy from the BK, I will spend the extra coin!
