Nope..............they are BOTH left hand.

I have been waiting to buy a Farley direct from factory for a long time. Was promised "next week" for what seed like forever. Several weeks ago, gave them my credit card number and they faxed me a invoice. Still no rest. S/W them on a Friday and promised to ship next week. Just after that I checked BR Classified and there was a NIB left hand for sale due to health issues. I called and committed. Immediately called Farley to see if I could cancel the order. They said no problem at all. Send money order off several days later got confirmation that $$ received and rest would ship tomorrow. Next day I got a notice from UPS of package being shipped to me. Just assumed it was from the private seller. Delivery to be on Thursday. Well, yesterday brown truck delivered a package. It was the rest from the private owner. Checked UPS notice and realized it was from Farley. Check credit card and there was charge from Farley. So............yep.....I got a second one arriving tomorrow. No problem.............I am sure I can sell it and not loose any money. Or just have one with 3 inch bag and one with 2 inch. (Joke) Farley people very nice, but don't seem very organized.

Jim,
You are right on about the folks at Farley. Probably really nice folks but don't have a clue. I have owned one and that was the last. The SEB rest is a superior product and you know up front that the wait time will be approximately 9 months for a NEO. The SEB is well worth the wait and the few extra bucks.

Tony,
What practical benefit would accrue from replacing my Farley with a NEO? Did you see your scores increase or is it just easier/smoother/better?

My Farley was purchased approximately 5 years ago. When I would would place my 18 pound gun on the rest motion was not smooth and would often not hold.
I soon replaced it with the first generation SEB rest. Great improvement.

Well, I don't really experience that problem in F-Open. My 21.25 pound gun does not move the head and motion is acceptable. I disassembled the Farley mechanism, degreased and lubricated with an STP/hBN mixture. That almost eliminated any "jerkiness". [br]
Barry, I know you shoot from a bench and probably don't have some of the same problems I do shooting prone. I occasionally need to adjust the height during a string due to rear bag movement. The Farley has an easy, one-hand height adjustment. How is it on the NEO?

Steve,
You would not believe the NEO as far as movement. It is incredible! The NEO works great for varminting; that's how much movement it has. Back in the beginning when it first came out Paul had a post with all the specs which included the horizontal and vertical movement.

I don't know Seb, never spoke with him; but the one thing that really impressed me was his ability to listen. This man listened to what the shooters were asking for and produced a product that will probably be in demand for some time to come.

Again, In my opinion, the SEB Neo is the BEST joy-stick rest on the market. I believe I have used them all.

Can't say one way or another about a Farley. I've never used one exceept when I got behind your gun at Phoenix. But the NEO is as staedy as my former rest but sets up much faster and lets me break shots faster which is why I wanted it. Maybe the farley would have solved those problems just as well. Certainly see plenty of great scores posted by Farley users.

The points Barry made are valid. If the motion is that much smoother, it could certainly help when dealing with variable winds. The Farley has about 40' of movement available, so they are similar in that respect. Can you adjust the NEO head height easily with the left hand?

I can't think of a time when I had to turn both sides to adjust the height on the NEO. I shoot righty so I can do it with my left hand. Easy to do even with a 10 pound barrel on the gun. Again, I have nothing to compare it to other than my previous rest which took more time and also took me much more out of position.

I've replaced the screws on my Farley with Butch Lamberts and with a 19.9 pound gun it's just as smooth as the NEO. On my original SEB I had to add the front end extension and counterweight to keep the weight of the rifle from moving the joystick on its own.

I bought Butch's screws, too, Dave. That helped quite a bit as did cleaning and lubricating the innards.
