Does the wind move it around/ mess with your aim up there?

You can`t put into words the amount of jealousy I am experiencing at this moment.....:eek::eek:

How high is it off the ground??

Does it dance around in the wind??

There would definitely be a lack of coyotes in that area, and one wife putting out "Lost Husband" posters all over town......;)

Phil.

Floor is 25 feet above the ground. I have been up there glassing in a 40 mph gusty winds and can see no movement....maybe a little vibration. Lots of cross beams and a guild wire at each corner. The only problem is when you have visitors, they need to be still as the bench is tied into the floor. But, I regualaraly have 2 or 3 friends up there to shoot steel with no issues.

As far as the yote situation...I have killed more than a few over the years before and during deer season, but i don't activly hunt them there in the winter as the deer mostly mover up and out of the valley and into the flat crop land when the snow gets deep. The yotes follow..

What gun do you use to shoot deer that far.
just asking.

The furthest I have ever atempted a deer was 1029 yards about 15 years ago. Kinda cool....1 shot and done with 2 whitness!!:) I have only ever had one tag since I got my LR steel/bait piles set up 4 years ago. I have a Clay Spencer built switch BBL Rem 700 in both 300 WBY and 338 EDGE. I also have various 300 WBY tubes for my BAT 1K bench gun. I've plinked many deer in that 500 to 800 yard range. I think my favorite times are shooting steel at 4 digit distances with my 6-47L....or years ago watching my kids when they were 6 or 7 fill my doe tags at 500 yards with my dasher or 6-47L.
