Show me what a beautiful gun looks like! Photos Photos Photos please!

I thought I would add just one more, this from a friend of mine over in Jolly Old England. I have included a quote from his book to go along with this image:

"There, with my father’s words ringing in my ears, I shall take that ‘step forward’ and order a perfect machine based on the Mauser ’98 action, built from metal and wood by master craftsmen who truly understand that ‘reliable’ and ‘mechanical integrity’ have as much relevance today as they did all those years ago."

I like shooting the TQ4 100 yard targets with the sights off a bench,,shot 7-8 200-19X but never have shot a 20X but I have bought some good flags since I shot it and gonna give it a try again when the weather warms up a little,,

pretty typical group sizes but shooting groups is easier than keeping them all in the X

Funny story on that one. It's a Weatherby Athena Grade 3 and it fits me perfectly. I owned it once and saw something in the local shop that I just NEEDED you know, so in that moment of weakness I traded away the Athena. Now I can't even remember what it was I traded it on but the next time I was in the store, just a few days later, the gun had been sold and the new owner happened to be back in there, probably looking for another beautiful gun someone had foolishly traded away. He asked if I had one of the chokes that was missing and I told him I would check but they should have all been in the factory carton. I looked and found none at home. Many times I really regretted trading that one away. Forward about two years-I walk into the same store there is my old Athena sitting on the shelf. Same condition as I traded it in. A few minutes later I walked out the door with it, at a surprisingly good price and two weeks after that...I accidentally came across that choke I could never find before.

Now if I could just find that Sako 6PPC Heavy barrel with the 24x Leupold I sold about 25 years ago at a show in Pittsburgh...

IMG_0008.JPG I know this gun can't compete in a world of maple and walnut, but there are lots of ways to be beautiful. Just a box stock Cooper model 22 phoenix chambered in 220 swift. If memory serves me correctly the evening I took this photo I was 23 out of 23 on woodchucks(most shots in the 300 to 500 yard range)and ran out of shells in approximately two hours after work that evening. Just wish I would've had more ammo loaded up,it was a target rich environment. That in it's self is a beautiful thing!
