Show me what a beautiful gun looks like! Photos Photos Photos please!

I thought I would add just one more, this from a friend of mine over in Jolly Old England. I have included a quote from his book to go along with this image:

"There, with my father’s words ringing in my ears, I shall take that ‘step forward’ and order a perfect machine based on the Mauser ’98 action, built from metal and wood by master craftsmen who truly understand that ‘reliable’ and ‘mechanical integrity’ have as much relevance today as they did all those years ago."

Back when this type of work was my bread and butter, I would often ask a client if there was an intended use and if this particular stock would stay on the rifle during that use. Invariably, I would get three answers:

I will hunt this rifle everywhere then return it to you to be refinished...

Please make me a second stock because I don't want the thorns on the bushes to ruin this one (African hunter). Sometimes the request was for a synthetic switch stock for hunting.

This will be in my library forever, never to be hunted.

Heres something I got coming. Not finished yet.. Been getting inletted, bedded, yada yada, stocks getting clear coat finished now, almost ready..

Dale: The last time I went to Hearnes, it cost me over $700. I had my hands on some gorgeous pieces. I decided to get some more experience before I use a "great piece". I'm still tweaking the design.

You got off easy, my last trip there cost me more than double that for a piece used on a kitchen table. If she ever gets sick of it, it should make a dozen or more stocks:D
