SELLING Shouldered Prefits

Kelbly's began using CNC equipment in 1987. The 1.115" coned bolt tenon has been the same now as then. I have a 1989 and the barrels from all subsequent actions fit to within .001 of head space on any of them.

Sounds like the receiver was faced off at some point. Always good to measure. :) -Al

It was certainly odd, no doubt. I would have never thought any such thing.

This was one of my customers that I talked into getting their own depth micrometer. I have thought about posting about that. I suggest everyone have one. Measuring headspace is certainly no more difficult than most reloading measurements. And the need to never ship an action to a gunsmith for a barrel, will pay for the tool no problem.

I am fine with a nut, but I am just curious what you need to do a shouldered barrel? Do you need measurements from the actual action?

If the action holds headspace I make it to the headspace.

I can also point you to the tools to measure ANY action you own. Once you have the headspace number, I can make a barrel.
