Shoulder Bumping

When you bump the shoulder back on a case how is the best way to measure how much you have taken it back? Can it be measured from rim to lip or do you need to try to measure the start of the shoulder?
Thanks

Hornady, formerly made by Stoney Point) makes an attachment for dial or digital calipers. The same adapter will take inserts for headspace for a variety of calibers, They come as a set.), as well as inserts for measuring off of the ogive for loaded round OAL,much more accurate than from the tip of the bullet).

Be VERY careful. Just a tad to far and you have headspace problems. If they will fire they appear to have major pressure problems and the brass will stretch at the base, ie: its buggered. Believe me I know.

Bruno Shooters Supply has the headspace kit without the body.,HK55)If you have the Comparitor body, you're in business.
Check the price.;)

If you neck size a case using a full length size die, and size down to the point where the neck meet the shoulder and continue to size it on down bit by bit until it has backed the shoulder down a couple of thousandths, will I run into any trouble?

Dont screw around with trying to hay wire the job. Get the proper tools and do it right the first time. It will be far cheaper in the long run. If I had all the money Ive p#ssed against the wall trying to do it cheap Id be set for shooting the rest of my life.
