Shoulder Bump.

I have heard talk of shoulder bump, and always thought when you full length resize, this one step takes care of the reshape of the whole case...Is this not true, and do I need to get a shoulder bump guage and die?

Bumping the shoulder is simply making sure that you have some headspace clearance in the sized case. Your full-length sizing die will do this when adjusted properly. For a bit more detail, I have an article here:

Mr. Salazar--Thank you for the link to that very informative article. One thing I have had my gunsmiths make for me for the last three new barrels I had chambered and installed is to take about a 1" stub from the barrel and make a chamber gauge with the same reamer used to make the chamber just like you mentioned in your article. Some gunsmiths will make this for you free of charge and others will add a bit to the total bill. The last one I had made cost me $25. However, I think that is a great bargain because it is an exact duplicate of the shoulder area on out to the freebore and lands.

Here's another link to see a new Digital headspace Gauge for measuring chamber clearance (at the shoulder). This is extremely easy to use, and measurements are very repeatable.
