Shoulder bump issues getting bolt to free fall

You still haven't said how fired, unsized deprimed brass chambers? Bolt falls closed, bolt has slight resistance just as bolt stops, bolt unable to cam?
Slight resistance (what “feels” normal to me from chambering this and other unsized brass). Gotta give it a slight push to chamber but nothing excessive.

Cannot figure out what I’m doing wrong but I have a 6bra with twice fired brass. Brass is lapua 6br. I removed the firing pin and ejector from my bolt and confirms it free falls on its own. Using a sac comparator I measure approximately 1.1250 for the twice fired brass. Confirmed bolt won’t drop. Resized and bumped back .002 and bolt won’t drop. Resized and bumped to .006 for a test and the bolt still would not free drop.

Any ideas on what I’m doing wrong on this? Is the brass need another firing to fireform all the way? Grasping for straws. Appreciate any ideas.

Thanks
always a good idea to have a body die if you can get one in 6bra. i'm just starting down that road so i don't have alot of imput .

I would think you can easily test if it's extractor related by using a virgin piece of brass. If it still does it, it's very likely the extractor. If not, it's elsewhere.

I had the same issue yesterday with 19 pcs.of brass that I turned my necks on,but I forgot to trim the lengths first. My cutter didn't reach the shoulder junction on these pieces.By looking at your pic I see a short turn on your neck, mine looked the same .This may be your issue

This thread alone is why everyone should flip a few bucks and up your contributor level. Worth every penny. Going to try out Alex’s advice. May size up with .002 bump to finally get back out on the range after a 6 month absence thanks to a bum shoulder. Sound like the brass that were way over bumped are good to use and will grow their shoulder back.

Thanks to all!

Cortinas new die but I got the same result with my Harrells 2.5. Cortina has the bushing with the built in shoulder and the Harrells has a micron standard bushing.

Nothing on the shoulder but have this rub spot on the two piece I tested.

attached is how far the bolt travels before it stops. Slight push will lower a little but not free fall after the stop at the top.
Is this a Defiance @Freezebomb? I had a rifle built in 2016 on a rebel action that does something similar. I initially thought it was a rough area in the chamber but turned out to be the extractor pushing the case body (.200 line) to one side of the chamber. This is only speculation but good place to check.

Good job @Erik Cortina !!! This kind of follow-up and honest concern is why your products get recommended by other shooters.
Excellent support!
Thank you,
Steve

This is awesome to know. Was beating my head against the wall but learning a lot in the process so it’s a win in my book. Now to go figure out how to remove the extractor correctly. Thanks, Alex
We removed the firing pin from the bolt.
