ShotMarker problems

I'd Like to share a problem we've all had with ShotMarker not showing shots.
In our last match we had one firing point not picking up shots and even some ghost shots, which is very rare. Using Sensor Monitor I could see that a couple microphones were not picking up the shots. and it was erratic. sometimes yes, sometimes no.
Luckily, one of our shooters overheard the conversation and told me his experience. He at one time worked in a sound studio and they had an environment exposed to smokers. They would take a cloth dampened with alcohol and clean the male ends of the cables to solve their problem.
In my case, I had no alcohol but another shooter gave me one of those small packet (Zeiss) of lens cleaning wipes. I shut down line after that match was over and went down to the target. After cleaning all eight cable ends and returning, we had absolutely no problems thereafter.
We've all replaced cables to correct problems and I personally think the cable is not normally the problem unless it shows actual wear.

I wish they made a Q-Tip type swab small enough so it would fit the microphones and sensor hubs so you could clean them out too. I did try and peel some of the cotton off the tip so I could insert it and clean the contacts. It sort of worked, but I did get a fair amount of tarnish out. After cleaning the plugs and jacks with alcohol, the shots started recording as normal. I have a feeling this is going to be an ongoing process.

Here are some small swabs that might work;

Three different sizes too. Probably others out there listed as 'cleanroom micro swabs'
