Shotgun on Gunbroker

I like SKB shotguns, and every now and then take a look to see what's on the market.

I'm having a hard time resisting this one, listed as "Very Good condition".

Pictures 4, 5, and 6 make it especially tempting (picture 11 just sweetens the pot that much more)!!

If I bid on it, I better not find out that somebody here outbid me, after I was nice enough to turn you all on to this deal!

I have the scaled down version, model 500, in 20 gauge and it's my favorite for field carry. With 3" shells, it was deadly on pheasants, back
when I still went to Winner, SD. (1990's).

From what I've seen and been told, fixed choke guns aren't that popular anymore. With one day left, it looks like you may be good to go. Good Luck!

I still have a Model 500 in 12 gauge (in much nicer condition I should add ;) ), choked Full and Imp Mod, with 30" barrels.

It was my dad's, and then my duck gun, back when we could shoot lead.

One big reason that I search SKB's now and then is hoping to find a nice little 20 gauge like yours. Some day I'll find one.

I just hope it's as nice as the one in the link above! :D

I have a 500 SKB in nicer shape that could be purchased. if interested let me know and I will get you pictures.

There are a lot of rust specs all over it that have been cleaned up as well as mold which grows into the finish and in some cases cant be rubbed out. The recoil pad will have to fit as well. I would look at dragman's gun quickly as you may get a much nicer gun.

It looks very well used and needs a good buttplate fitting but those are very nice ou guns and last forever. I wouldnt let mine go for near that

Actually, I'm coming around full circle on this.

In my sporting clays guns, yeah, I like interchangeable chokes.

But in my hunting guns, I could probably hunt the rest of my life with an gun choked Mod over Imp Cyl, and not feel handicapped. And.... there is something to be said for simple and foolproof.

17 hours..... I'm holding my breath!

With a gun that nice though, there will probably be lots of bidding at the last minute. I may go in and "snipe" it at the last second, just for extra kicks! ;)

I have a very nice 280, 20ga it was 140.00 new years ago. Not for sale, its just a sweet thing , hope u get your 500

Looks to me like Cold bore is trying really hard to get someone to bid on his shotgun. It would make a great trot line weight. If it was a Merkel or an AyA I could maybe understand all this.

In my humble opinion "The Attic" has a very different opinion of what "Very Good Condition" means than I do.

Whew! I can sleep tonight. I was afraid I'd be up all night worrying about getting outbid!

You may be the only one here that gets what I was hinting at!

I guess I need to lay the sarcasm on a bit thicker in the future. o_O

Here are some of my current SKB's.

I guess I can probably hold off on adding the one at the auction... at least for now.....

My father gave me his "Turkey gun" Parker DHE? 30" side by side, 12 gauge, full and full:confused:
