Short necked virgin brass. Is this to be expected?

What are the actual chamber dimensions of ALL rifles made in that caliber since 1894? No one can possibly know that number. How about you manufacture the brass for all of those 124 year old rifles and then try and get liability insurance? Would you make it long (dangerous) or short?

You are asking for irrelevant data and putting a ridiculous constraint on the brass manufacturers. The chambers for that caliber have to be safely designed to handle cartridges of that caliber, not the other way around. Cartridges of that caliber have cases that are 55mm long. Chambers have to be designed to handle that maximum. Brass does not have to be designed to safely accommodate chambers not designed for that maximum. Whoever sold you on the belief that brass makers could be held liable for chambers less than 55mm sold you a lie.

go to the search feature and type in fire forming brass.

I was told in post #8 of this thread that fire forming will not produce enough growth. I 1-starred the Hornady brass at MidwayUSA and the Lapua brass at Brownell's. That seems to be all I can reasonably do about it. Maybe they will slowly grow to maturity before the end of their useful life.
