Short action .284 Win Hunter

Hey guys, just posted a range report of my short action, magazine fed .284 Winchester in the Big Stuff forum.

Currently I am building two .284 Win for customers.\

Stiller Predator SA

Wyatt extended Center feed heat treated CM mag boxes

PT&G Stainless Bottom Metals

Jewell triggers

Both will wear Broughton 1:9, 5C barrels one 26' the other 25'

They will be riding in McMillian Remington BDL stocks.

The chamber will be cut wit a piloted PT&G reamer w/.3165 neck

The sized cases will be .312

I am going to try Barnes tipped tripple shocks in 120, and 140 grains.

what's the advantage of going with the .284win. over say a 7mm-08? wouldn't you be able to get the same velocity with less powder from a 7mm-08?

btw, that's good lukin gun.

oh, yeah. sorry it was late last night when i read post and only looked at the load development with H4831sc.

the 140gr loads seem to be pretty close, but i'm sure someone could load them up hotter depending on gun. i never thought the .284 could come so close to 7wsm in performance.

i should try some r17 in my 270wsm. still tho, all are very good rounds.
