Yes we do put our hands through alot.Hands take a beating in our lifetime. I struggle loading with arthritis, I usually have my wife wipe off lube. Last week I had tendonitis in my left wrist and had a splint on it all week. But there are folks with more serious problems. Good luck with your surgery. Two hands at once will be a challenge. A long lifetime of work wears things out.
I know your pain. I have horrible arthritis in both hands and after a long reloading session my hands feel like I can’t even make a fist.Hands take a beating in our lifetime. I had carpal tunnel in both hands. My doc said he wouldn't operate on both at the same time - how was I going to wipe my a$$? good question. eventually had both done, my dominant hand first, and my other about 30 years laterNever heard of having both hands done at the same time. Pretty hard to function.
Hey George, been dealing with the big D for thirty years, I tell people I have 3 1/2 fingers on my left hand. The skin has fused together on my pinkie but it has never really been a bother.I've had at least 10 hand surgeries, carpal tunnel on the right hand and dupuytrens contracture on both hands. Dupuytrens was done on both hands one time, it as not a big deal. The carpal tunnel was a real quick fix, only missed one day of work, doing office, telephone and computer stuff. It was my second day so I had help learning and doing. A relative had carpal tunnel repair last Friday and didn't need help after Sunday. Ice and elevation is the secrete. You will recover quickly and if your groups don't tighten, blame the quack MD and invite him to join you in court.
That is a lot more progressed than my left pinky. In the last 6 months I've had some other carving done on me , I'm not ready to have 4 hours of work on my finger. I can still cook, eat, shoot, load, two finger the computer and bite the top off a bottle of good beer, so I'm happy. I did have the ring finger on my left hand fixed. The incision was a zig-zag from the middle of the finger across the palm. It took 4 hours, the recovery was pretty fast, after the incision healed I had full use of my hand. Don't be afraid of the surgery, get a #1 Dr. and go for it. GOOD LUCK!!Hey George, been dealing with the big D for thirty years, I tell people I have 3 1/2 fingers on my left hand.
