Shooting season over

Well my shooting season is over unfortunately. I was hoping to shoot the Cotton boll match in lubbock Sept 1,2.
I had a nerve conduction study done 2 weeks ago on my hands.
The doctor scheduled me for both my hands to be operated on that Friday.
Guess it's time to put away the gear till spring time ..

Best wishes for a speedy recovery so you're back on the range as soon as possible.

Several years ago, I had tendonitis so bad in my right elbow, I couldn't bend my arm without excruciating pain. It took some time to heal but eventually I got back on the rifle range.

Is the diagnosis carpal tunnel?
Yes sir. My dominant hand ( Right) is the worst. When I did the nerve test last week. The doctor said that the right hand wasn't detecting the sound wave ( I assume that's what it is) normal was like 3 and mine was a 1..
I was surprised bout them saying both at the same time aswell. It's goin to be a struggle but less time off work

After having that surgery done, I have no idea how you will be able to eat and such without hands for two or three weeks. Mine were completely imobilized for that long after surgery.

Sorry to hear about your hands.

my problem is my feet. Bad circulation. Infection can set in before you know it because of edema.

I hope to be at the Cottonbowl. We have two Grand Daughters at Texas Tech, so my wife really wants to go.

Hands take a beating in our lifetime. I struggle loading with arthritis, I usually have my wife wipe off lube. Last week I had tendonitis in my left wrist and had a splint on it all week. But there are folks with more serious problems. Good luck with your surgery. Two hands at once will be a challenge. A long lifetime of work wears things out.

Best of luck. I'd say if they're doing both at the same time, he's a new school doctor. My Dad had his done a few years back the newer way and he was using his hand all the way within a week. We got some nice pictures of the tunnel as well

They said microscopic incision bout the size of dime. Only time will tell.
Hopefully he will give me footage of the surgery...
Thanks for all the well wishes
Dad had his done at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. His Dr was the head honcho for the sports teams as well. I was hoping he might throw a mean football after the surgery, but no such luck.

I'd say this will be a great decision for your future shooting. Nobody likes not feeling their trigger!

I had carpal tunnel surgery in the 80s In both hands when they cut your hand open at wrist but not at the same time. Mine are doing fine I wouldn’t do both at the same time. My suggestion is to practice wiping after a crap with your weak hand for a while to get used to it because that is a real challenge if you have to do it yourself

I believe the doctors are there when you want it done, I would be suspect, that he would want to do both hands at the same time, time for a second opinion. if I would have listened to my first urologist I would have had my prostate removed immediately! second opinion at UAB "if I had your cancer I would not have it removed!" two years later still have my prostate and the cancer has not grown.
