Shooting History

Any good books out there, with something about the history of competitive shooting?

There really ought to be... Some of the past legends are still with us. Many great photos and stories are likely still around some of the old gun clubs...

The NRA sent an order form for a bbok on the history of Camp Perry and The National Matches to my wife with the Registered Match packet of stuff, I'll try to dig it out.
 
The first book on the discipline I am aware of is Col. Townsend Whelen's book, The Ultimate in Rifle Precision, published in 1958.

Warren Page wrote The Accurate Rifle in 1973.
