Shooting bench height

I will throw this in. Anderson Cteek is the nicest outdoor range we shoot it. It is in a great setting, it looks perfectly flat but has just enough gradual uphill elevation to 400 yds that it makes setting flags easy. Plus, from one distance to the next the target frames line up perfect. Just raise your elevation. Cemented firing line, cement benches, firing line and cleaning area covered. A friendly group with some excellent shooters with a lot of knowledge and experience. Good cash payouts to reward whoever rises to the top. Enough good shooters that no one dominates. And of course, the switching wind that usually makes it impossible to sit on one condition.

I don't know the bench height at my range, I don't use the steel stool provided. I use a canvas folding chair w/arms and a boat cushion, works good for my new shrunken height. The portable bench used in the field for gophers and P.D.s the table is adjustable and may change depending on the gun.

Yes, bench heights can be a problem for some. LOL
My grandson breaking in a .22 I put together for him.
10 knot wind and I put rocks in his pockets !!!

Junior rifle always had a problem in this area. Set up
time at Ridgway got a little troublesome.

And Jeff.....Those inside benches were a bit awkward
for being on them for the first time. Now I'll just remember
to make adjustments.

While we’re on the subject, how far apart between benches is optimal?
If shooters are using muzzle brakes*, then the optimal distance from them to my bench is at least 1/4 mile. If they are shooting semi-autos without a brass catcher but no muzzle brake*, then the optimal distance is at least 30'.

* Brake is the correct spelling. Like brakes on a vehicle. OTOH, if your muzzle breaks, then you should fix it.

What an interesting topic..I think its personal..if your building it, and your the primary iser..build it to fit you perfectly..and make it big..whats with all these little concrete tops I see..there's no room
Man I want one side to clean, one side to shoot, room for front rest rear bag, note book, cold drink
Every time I'm at the rage I hate the benches..
When I build my home rage, I want that table Jesus had at that last supper..I think that would do it..
Life is good bro...haha..how high should I build my shooting bench..were blessed to have these kind of problems..yes?
