Last summer, July 9 our 17 year old son climbed in a tree stand and took this picture at our WV property. Shortly after taking this picture he fell out of tree stand from 17 ft! I heard him saying Dad and went to him. He was dazed and we drove to Wheeling hospital. He walked into the ER and you should have seen the look on the staff faces when we told the he fell out of tree stand. Took x rays of back and ribs, nothing broken. We were waiting to be discharged and son said he felt something wet. He put his finger in his ear and had BLOOD on it!!! Head Cat scan was ok and another Doctor examined him and said he ruptured his ear drum. Son plays snare drum in high band and started practice the next day. ER doc said no loud noises so we asked if he wore ear muffs could he practice. Doc said yes ear muffs but no ear plugs.
God was watching over son that day!!!! Follow up visit with ENT doc said there was no permanent damage to his ear.
Poor kid has taken a lot jokes about his fall. Our Pastor calls him Bouncer.
