Shocking Anti-Rust Product Test!

The only time I had a problem with rust was when I bought a house in Wisconsin and my tools picked up surface rust in the basement. Now I have a dehumidifier in my shop and have no rust issues.

I did not see Birchwood Casey Barricade (Sheath) in the test. I have used Barricade/Sheath on my firearms for years with zero rust problems.

I don't know why it is so hard for people to understand that WD-40 is a WATER DISPLACEMENT (WD, getit?) liquid meant to remove water from electrical components. As a teenager I was handed a can of it to restart cars that got their distributors flooded at the local car wash where I worked. It was never meant to be a lubricant nor does it claim to be!

Perhaps because WD-40 says otherwise. From the WD-40 website, description of the standard product (now called "multi-use" - there's 3 pages of specialty formulations in various sizes):

"WD-40 Multi-Use Product protects metal from rust and corrosion, penetrates stuck parts, displaces moisture and lubricates almost anything. "
