Shipping - Who should I use.

FedEx or UPS. Both have very similar strengths and weaknesses. I do find UPS the most expensive and their coast to coast time is terrible(except compared to USPS lately).

Right now I won't knowingly buy anything that is going to ship via USPS. I'll happily pay a couple dollars more for FedEx Home if given the option.

What's the story (for or against) DHL? I have a package coming from British Columbia sent on January 5 and is in their NC facility today. Not bad.

In the last 3 weeks I have had great results from UPS, good results from FedEx and NO Results from USPS. All I get from USPS is In Transit Late Arrival. Again wrong, what I have from USPS is NOTHING.

yeah i really want to support usps cause i dont want to see them fold but right now its prob best to give them a rest and if sending something of value well their insurance doesnt have the best rep for paying off.

Maybe USPS should stick to envelopes and let others handle packages until they solve their problems.

im not surprised. I got a christmas card yesterday (1/7) that was mailed from 2 states away Dec. 21
Funny,we just got a card that was mailed a week before Christmas. Our friends that mailed it only live 20 minutes away.

Even when all the delays started happening last Fall I had no delivery issues with either UPS or USPS for packages. We have seen some letter/cards delayed in delivery.

I had a barrel shipped (from WI) to me (in CO) on Dec 23. It arrived today - Jan 8. It had a nice tour out to CA and then back to get back to me. This was UPS. The only oddity I think I've ever had with UPS.

I also have had 2 packages sent to me recently via USPS. One was supposed to be delivered tomorrow but it arrived today - one day early. This has been the norm for me: USPS's algorithm for estimating delivery date consistently is one day too long....I almost always get the package sooner than the original estimate.
