I have two in .223. Excellent barrels. Easy clean, very accurate shooting 500 yards into 2”-4” gongs with factory ammo.

Years ago, I had a Remington in .222 that was put together by shilen using one of their barrels. It shot at or under 1/4” with 52 grain Sierras.

I don't think they've raised their prices in 20 years. I frankly was wondering how they have stayed in business.

Shoot, just with inflation... A 20k pickup 25 years ago is $80k now.

Lots of barrel makers are borderline losing money out there because they are priced like it's 1998. Must be doing lots of government contract work.

Love em. Just got this one in recently. Also running a Shilen 26" on one of my Savage .223s. All have worked out to sub 1/4 moa. Whatta Hobby!

I hate to bring this up but I noticed NSS sells the Savage version cheaper than Shilen, is there a difference?

Could be a premium for the custom cut chamber? Mine have been ordered through NSS. No complaints on my part. Just pleased to get what I want. Whatta Hobby!

Shilen has always had a great quanti;y discount structure for dealers. The mark-up applied by those dealers was up to them, free enterprise in action. Used to be, Shil;en did not compete with dealers. The marketplace is a little different now. WH

Jim's price was probably set due to quantity purchases. Us old Savage
guy's always gave Jim the first heads up over on the old Savage forums,
and I do mean a lot.
