Shell case question

Went to the range the other day and picked up brass as usual. In the mix of 9mm was a strange copper colored hull (see attached). They are all stamped 9mm Luger, but when I tried to run the copper colored hulls through my decapper/sizer they would not go in. They just stopped like they were too big. I didn't force it and separated the hulls and put them in my trash hulls.

Any idea who makes these particular bullets and why they would be so different?

Try a magnet against it. Some imported military cases are steel.

Based on color I would think it's nickel plated. Ni shouldn't move when you size.

I have a lot of nickel plated brass including .17 Remington, .223, 7mm BR, .44 Magnum and .45 ACP. None are the least bit difficult to size. Nickel plated steel might be the problem, but I also see some pretty odd looking firing pin dents in the OP's primers...still think they are steel cases.

The one in the middle was a Methodist,
I mean fired with a glock.
The copper, if steel, might even be Berdan primed.
Look inside.

If you're talking about the one on the right, it is more than likely steel cased and berdan primed........ limited research shows LVE as being just that. Copper washed steel.

As noted above probably Berdan primed. The decapping pin hit bottom and stopped the case from moving further. This is why the OP reported the cases "would not go in. They just stopped like they were too big."

Thanks for the replies. To clear some of this up, the two on the left decap fine. It's the copper one on the right that was the problem. There were only about a dozen out of a 3 gallon bucket of brass. They were disposed of. I was just curious as to why they might have been an issue.
