I have some fed 210 m primers that I have had for 15 years and I was wondering if they would still be good? I know powder if kept right will keep for a long time but I did'nt know about primers!!
Any one have any experience with primers with some age?
Thanks,RW

Yes and I have had zero problems with them but I wouldn't trust them in a match but for plinking, practice and some hunting situations I would have no problem using them.

As Wayne said, I also have had excellent experiences with really old primers.

About 10 years ago, bought a Sako L46 from an old gentleman who was getting out of the sport, and with the sale of the rifle he included a supply of CCI450 primers. The really old ones that came in the red & white box's. He could have bought them 10 to 15 years prior to when I got them.

Every one has performed normally, ran them across the chronograph, comparing them with new blue box CCI450's, with the identical loads, & they gave the same results.

They do last a very long time, if properly stored.

I am currently using large pistol primers that my father-in-law used back in the early 1960s when he lived in Houston TX... they shoot fine.

I have some Fed 210 M primers that are approaching 18 years old and I have no qualms about using them as they function perfectly.

Still good is my guess. Soaked in water for a week, then dried, they will still fire. Oil or solvent might be different. Here are some old ones i shot. All fired normal.

RW, I have a large collection of old primers, 50 years old and more. They all fire trouble-free. They make for very interesting comparisons to modern primers when I do some oddball testing.

I have old wooden slot boxes and the oldest I have is frankford arsenal non-mecuric primers from the 50's and a brick of herters from the 60's that do work great.

I thought I was the only one on here old enough to still have these. ;D Mine work just fine, but I never tried giving them a bath. :)
