pink stuff on fed primers???

okie

Gold $$ Contributor
I recently decided to try Fed match primers to try to lower my E.S.,they have pink stuff all over the back. Some were completely covered, some not, some had 1 hole plugged, others 2,others 3. Is this a normal lot? does anyone know how or if this effects vel. or accuracy? The regular Fed. primers I use for varmints have no pink stuff. Just wondering? THanks in advance for any info. mp

Please submit a photo if you can.

Do you mean pink stuff on the outer cup of the primer or pink compound covering the anvil on the side that faces the powder?

Sounds like he is speaking about the anvil,"1/2/3 holes plugged")

yes, that is normal.

Priming compound is more of a chartreuse color IIRC...

I talked with Federal about this one time, and was told that its just latex paint, not a sealer or any thing to do with there operation. just for IDing them.
