Birdog,
Words just can't describe how awesome that really is! I told you I hate traveling over 100 miles but your going to make me put on several thousand to visit the Birdog,..........and range :D
Wayne.

Wayne,

I too was invited to come out and play at the range..... ;D

Like you, i as well, have a LONG trip.....All the way from the left coast(currently) and is the ONLY thing preventing me from taking Birddog up on his generous invitation.

Phil.

We have hits at one mile.
Going to eat now.
Story and pics later.
Junebug came over and spotted.

Randy, that's just plain cruel. "Gotta eat now and I hit it with junebug spotting". We thirst for the pics and details. OBTW, how's junebug's coyote hunting doing this year?? WD

Junebug came over this p.m. and spotted for me using
his March 10x60x. It was cloudy and dark. The March
was perfect for spotting. We shot first at a bare spot of
ground at 1700 yds and got her dialed in. Then I dialed
in four more MOA and went to the 1760 yd 4' x 4' plate
Bug saw a shot throw dirt and grass just off to the left and
slightly high. Made an adjustment and fired another round.
Just as Junebug started to say you have a hit, we both heard
a very faint DING as bullet contacted metal at one mile.
I fired again and Junebug said I was a little high and I was
dissapointed. But he said no, you have another hit slightly
higher ON TARGET. Now I felt better with two consecutive hits.

But then I made a mistake and told Bug to take the Gator over
and paint me a larger bullseye and spot from the target using the
walkie-talkies. His angle from the side made it impossible to call
my hits. Next time I will keep him with me spotting with the March.

But I did get two hits in a row shooting blindly, using only info
from my spotter. Junebug, you can spot for me anyday.
Bug did as good a job as Voldoc and JR spotting for me in the
prarie dog wars.

Group was all vertical. Almost no windage.
Bullseye was the round one inch black spot.
One low left,
One high left.
Approximately 18 in group.
Walkie-talkie hanging from top of plate

If I did my math correctly, your bullet is dropping 68" from 1700 to 1760 yards. DANG!!

To try or not to try.
Well I sure will never do it
if I never try.

A shotgun pattern might just get him.
This Holly, Co. dog caught a 115 Berger
in the head from a 6mm Dasher at 1400 yds.
6th shot from a tight shotgun pattern.
