ONE MILE SHOOT'n TN style

It was my first trip to Danny Huffines one mile range near Gainsboro, Tn.
I arrived at his drive way about two hours before dark, just the right time
for going long. In Tn the wind goes to nothing and visibility is best just before
the sun goes down.

When I arrived the guys were sighting in at 1500 yd in the backyard.
To get the mile we packed up four wheelers and trucks and went
to the hilltop for the extra yardage to get ONE MILE. Tracey Milisap had a
375 Viersco Magnum and a 375 Snipetac. Danny had a 338 Lapua Magnum.

Across the valley in a pasture near the top of another hill was a 4' x 8' metal
plate with a deer and groundhog painted on it. They zeroed in the rifles on
the plate and then let me have a couple of shots with the Snipetac.
Tracey pulled the Schmidt-Bender off the Viersco and put it on the Bat Model L
Snipetac. The deer's head was near the center of the plate. My first shot hit about
3 to 4 inches above the deer's head. My second shot was a center shoulder shot.
Here is a short video. They had the range set up with video. Notice the
shrapnel kicking up at lower left of plate.

Junebug made the shot of the day pulling off a head shot on his third shot.

Here is a very short video of Tracey commenting on the Viersco.
Tracey smith'ed the guns.

Clicked the video and Norton blocked it for malicious s/w! Might want to scan it! ;)

Norton is correct. The 375's are very malicious at ONE MILE and beyond!

Shooting that far does give you a certain good feeling. There is two great benefits to shooing that far. First most others can’t even dream of shooting that far. Second it really makes shooting closer so much easier.

Got one ready to break in for that Mile Shoots & 1- that has already shot single digits at the Thunder Valley mile shoot years ago.

New one is a .375 -408 with 35 degree shoulder BAT 10" round 1.55" action, 30" Krieger 1.45" to .950 at the muzzle. Bedded into a 4" forend MBR Tracker "Big Dog" - Jewell extended trigger and all the good stuff.

Other one is a .408 same 35 degree shoulder with a 1.75x10" McMillan McBros Action - dual port with Krieger 1.45" 32" barrel in a barrel block and in my Heavy Gun Stock in Desert Camo-- all the other whistles and bells to get the mile and beyond done.
Last time this one was shot was that match in Ohio and has less than 100 rounds on the barrel.

If someone here has Tracey Millsaps contact info can you PM me please? I'll get you my info and you can send it to him if you're not comfortable giving out his number.

He built a "one off" rifle for me a few years back and I need a part. The number I have for him either doesn't work or he didn't set up his voicemail.
