Seeking Mentor Around Chattanooga

Hi!

I have been hunting and shoot my whole life, and load for everything I shoot. I have competed in local matches years ago where I grew up and some IHMSA, but never benchrest. I would love to find a mentor that I could spend some time with to further my knowledge around shooting, technique, loading, etc. If there is anyone who would be open to talking / spending some time together or being a sounding board as I try to learn more on my own, I would love to connect!

I cant help you because of geography and lack of actual experience myself.
But would gladly give you a healthy share of sarcastic and otherwise useless comments on this forum.
Check out the match results for nearby ranges and you will find someone--most likely they are members here.
No, I do not know where the match results are located.

You might find Matt Kubic. He could probably point you in the right direction. He's working on a new shooting range real close to Chattanooga. He's a member on here too but I dont remember his handle.

I would watch the competition page for events in your area, perhaps attend one or two.

I too can provide the same ball busting mentoring as I'm not a benchrest shooter either. It might be easier to take from me as I spent a good part of my upbringing over the mountain from you.

If you are interested in benchrest with a capital B, try and attend the NBRSA Registered match being held at River Bend Gun Club Northeast of Atlanta on Nov 10 & 11. There will be some top shooters there and if you can get there the Friday before the match many of them will be willing to talk about their passion. Once the match starts they will be focused on shooting and loading, but it would be worth it to watch the match and see how it is run. Let me warn you, it is a rabbit hole the likes of which you have never seen. LOL
