SEB rear bag problem?

Update...the dealer took my old Tan/Black bag back and he has tried to fill that bag and make it sit flat.
He could not get the bag to go flat, so he sent me the new Red/Black bag as in the photos above.
Even with the new bag empty there was no way I could force it flat. The hard rubber (neoprene) base was just too tough to bend.
So this morning I sent that bag back too.
Nothing 'wrong' with the SEB bags...they just don't suit me or the style of shooting I do.
YMMV sort of thing.
Thanks for all the advice, and ideas...much appreciate all who took the time to respond.

I've started using a dead bottom on the bottom or spacer on all my rear bags because of the bulge.
Every brand has this "problem". I'm sure it has its needs for different benches but it's not for smother concrete ones i shoot off of.

2 cents I have two Seb bags as well. From day one filled and set on a flat table top in my Man cave.
They have been Flat to this day ?

Maybe the product you filled them with ?

I tried garnet sand, and black granite 'aquarium' sand. Neither did the job.
Tried putting in more sand (in case the new leather had stretched), then tried with less sand as the bottom did bulge out.
The dealer tried with the old bag too, and he could not get it to go flat.
The new bag...I could not get it to go flat even with it empty and me pushing it down hard on the kitchen bench.
As this is such a small niche sport here in NZ it is possible that these bags have been sitting for quite some time in storage and maybe the leather has hardened and 'set'?
I'm quite sure that SEB make a good product and I will get another SEB bag...but next time will need to check it/buy it in person not online. Then I can see how flat it will go.

Good Luck .

Right after I received my SEB Bigfoot rear bag years ago, out of oak laminated stair step (1-inch thick) I cut a piece to fit the SEB footprint except it was and extra 1-inch wide on each of the two sides...and anchored the base of the bag hard to it. Exceptionally flat one the bottom, no bag bottom bulge, no front-to-front or side-to-side rocking.

Most likely the bag was stored in a position causing the base curvature either immediately after forming/sewing, or it was stored with lots of weight on top of it and it took a permanent set. I wonder if it might have helped the OP to lightly heat the bag and hold it in a reverse bend position to cancel out the bend. Might also help to fill it solidly with heavy sand and leave it in the sun.

Why don't we return the bag to SEB, let him see what the problem is (weather OP or his problem) let us know and him replace the bag with one that works!???? We'd all like an answer I think.

Thank you @seb
Great photos, and much appreciate your taking the time.
I'm thinking that my problem was caused by the bags sitting in storage for some time and have developed a 'set'. We are a small market here in NZ, and these things aren't an everyday shopping item.
I could not force the new empty bag to go flat. Even with the tip of the base front on the bench and me heaving down with all my 79kg (yeah...I'm old and light) I could not flex that base down to anything resembling flat (or straight).
This is what makes me think it's just a glitch from being in storage too long.
Probably not a problem in the USA where the market for the bags would keep the dealer's stock fresh.
