Seating depth.

Let's say I'm testing seating depth with varget powder and I find that it shoots best .005 off the lands but it's still not shooting as good as I want so I change to reloader 15. Will this change where my rifle likes the bullet seating at? I relize nothing is absolute with reloading for accuracy but what is your experience with changing powder and it's affect on seating depth?

Yes, You need to do load/seating development with that powder. it's all about the pressure.

New powder it should shoot different . Just changing lot numbers of the same powder does . Larry

I always do another seating depth test when changing powder. Rarely does a given bullets preferred seating depth change much at all in any of my rifles.

Yes, You need to do load/seating development with that powder. it's all about the pressure.

Okay then it is very likely it will change even if you change primer, powder charge or even neck tension.

You will save a lot of time and likely $ by using a tuner vs. chasing loading components and the weather. Just pick a known load and tune to it.
