Seat depth test frustration....in a good way

Any go to shoot a jump test in hopes of just having to have a clear cut winner? Only to have most of them shoot the same? I shot 10 thou jump out to 70 thou. All but one shot in the .6 MOA group. I’ll take the positive of I know I don’t have to be super precise on my depth when reloading as it seems pretty forgiving right now. Going to run this load and do some distance testing and see how it shakes out. Rifle is a 6.5/284 with about 1700 rounds on it. Shooting 156 Bergers over h1000

I had a 6.5 creedmoor with about 2000 rounds on it and it shot the same no matter what depth you set them.. with that many rounds down it im sure the angle of the lands is gone and it just has a long taper in there causing what your seeing and what i experienced..

Why not trying 5 thu jump to 10 jam.
With that many rounds you must have a lot of erosion.
Hey Fred....
5 is gonna be next try just to see if something changes. For another few rounds I hate to leave accuracy on the table. But if nothing changes, I’m content with what I have.

In my world I would also be frustrated, for different a reason. So, since jumping doesn't work why not start going into the rifleing.

.020 is what I would try in the pictures you’ve shown. my 65x284 With 140 VLD hunting bullets prefers a .010 jam Also give reloader 23 a try you will not be disappointed

That’s some awesome work!! I had really good results with the 140 Bergers also using h4831. Have you messed around with any of the Vihtavuori powders in your 6.5? Looks like we have a few things in common, both have 6.5/284s and both 338 guys!

I have used n570 in my 338 and I love it it’s just expensive and hard to come by with a new barrel I’ve been running Retumbo got a decent load for that 94 Grains shoots very good one hole Cloverleaf at 100 I have started with 4831 in my 65 284 and it is very accurate but was wanting a little more velocity I have tried 4831 shortcut H 1000 retumbo reloader 23 and reloader 26 in that rifle and settled on reloader 23 reloader 26 got great velocities Up to 3100 ft./s before I saw pressure but the accuracy was not there

Two great cartridges One is all horsepower and the other is about efficiency

Hey Fellas, I ended up running a 20 thou jump. Shooting roughly a half minute group at 100. Maybe a hair bigger. What was great about this load was when I tested at 600 it actually tightened up a little.
This last weekend i attended the LRSU intro class in Price UT. It was awesome, that shooting range is top notch. I took this same load and rifle and was able to get the milk jug at 1000, 1500, and a mile.
