Yeah, at 78 I too just don't have the eagle eye sight I once had. The cataracts and having bifocals was making it frustrating to get good results. Am so glad I had that all taken care of a little over a year ago now. It's so nice to get a nice clear image through my scope now, even better I can see clearly my pistols iron sights. and not have glasses I had to fight with. Life is good!

Glad you have improvement. Fortunately I have no cataracts at this point. But at 55x now I am were I was at 42 power 25 year ago.

Ok not disagreeing but thought you could control donuts with inside neck reaming

For donuts, the easiest method I've found is to seat the bullets ahead of the donut so the boat tail part of the bullet is where the donut is formed. This allows me to bypass any tension the donut might place on the actual bearing surface of the bullet. Granted, this requires some forethought, and you may have to have your gunsmith cut your throat a little deeper to allow your chosen bullet to work.

Ive weighed my spent primers
they all weighed exactly the same within .001 Milligram (Cup & Anvil)
So the only weight differences were the charge in the primer
I didnt weigh every brand of spent primer I use
just the ones I weight sort)

These pix are CCI SR BR-4 primers I bought about 10 years ago. Rem LR primers looked much better as far as foils damaged and charge above the foil. My camera is not the best for close up pix.

Notice the excess charge squeezed above the foil. Some of the foils are not centered in the cup and appear to be wrinkled. Some of the anvil legs are stained and other are bright. Some of the charge is on the ends of the anvil legs and on the cup rim.

Yes there's a definite difference in the charge compound between manufacturers
Some primers had as much as 50% difference in weight of charge compound
