Yes because they are so rare, I had the same experience, shipped me a $15 scale from the 1960s, he did take it back but took months to get my money back.

I tuned 3 M5's thanks to Boyd. There is a little luck involved with the quality of the M5 agate and knife edges as some are better than others out of the box.

Have you ever figured out the specifics in the Agates and knives that make some better or worse?

Yes how they are cut and how even the knife blade bevels are. buy a 10x jeweler's loupe. you should have one anyway!

It always seems to be the case with known problematic vendors whether it’s Scott Parker, PTG, Sharp Shooters Supply that a few loyal patrons sing the praises while many remain dissatisfied.

In particular Scott‘s inability to meet quoted lead times and lack of communication are well documented. Scott has even acknowledged this publicly. When I hear from the rare customer who was actually happy with the service, I have to wonder if he is truly offering a fair service to some while others wait months or years for their scale.

I can put up with alot of bs but when you send someone an item or money and then they refuse to answer your communications, when you know they have received them, puts that person on my permanent deadbeat list.

That’s awesome! I also bought one out of his stock a few years ago. I was quoted 2 weeks which turned into 6 months and I had to get pretty nasty to get it when I did.

Hopefully things are getting better. His scales are absolutely perfection. After the frustration getting mine, it’s one thing that I’ll never sell even though I use an FX 220i for most of my loading now.

Well, you're going to love this then. I ordered a stock recently from Sharp Shooter Supply and it was a pleasant transaction. Good communication from Lisa and it arrived on time. I think I better go get that lottery ticket now.
