Scott parker, single kernel scales.

This is my experience with Single Kernel Scales. After receiving a call back from Scott in JUN of 2016, I sent him a check for a tuned scale. The check was cashed in SEP 2016. I still do not have the scale. Many emails, texts and phone calls have been sent to Scott since then. Four times I was told it would be shipped the following week. Last year, I began requesting a refund. Multiple emails, texts, phone calls, and a registered USPS letter have been ignored. Scott's Facebook page continues to state that scales are ready to ship, providing prices, and requesting PMs from the customer. There are other customers out there that are waiting for a paid in full scale. Kern County law enforcement advised me that I have no recourse other than a civil suit. Obviously, I'm not going to travel in order to get a refund. Where I come from, this is theft.

yep, think I will just sell my 10 10 that has been sitting idle for 40 ish years rather than sending it in. I use other methods for measuring my loads anyways. Maybe Scott would buy it?

he could send me the $$ and I would ship it when convenient....

So do the Scott Parker tuned scales go up in value if you own one and put it up for sale? I was seriously considering purchasing one from him last year, I didn't do it because of threads like this. He sent me a PM and said he had some available, just send him the money.

BTW scale owners can tune their own scales to single grain sensitivity and excellent repeatability. I have, and have helped others do that. I realize that not everyone is interested in or has the confidence to do their own work, but it has and can be done.

Boyd,

Maybe you could do a small article to get us pointing in the right direction. I have no doubt many would be very interested in reading it. I certainly would be.

Paul

I tuned 3 M5's thanks to Boyd. There is a little luck involved with the quality of the M5 agate and knife edges as some are better than others out of the box.

They certainly hold their value beyond those tuned by one’s self and less complicated than all those wires and connections.

I would offer to do it for you guys as Boyd taught me the tricks and I did 3 to perfection. BUT salmon season is tomorrow, and then halibut and the deer and bear. So maybe this winter! I still have all the diamond files and other goodies in a box.
ps: Boyd in in England so post is an issue

Generally speaking, I have found that for me, talking to someone is easier than all of the effort of doing an article, and I believe that I can better individualize my instructions that way. We can have a conversation and I I can answer questions. If you are serious, past the tire kicking stage, PM me and we can get together on the phone.

Thank you Boyd for the conversation last night.....Lots to think about and try.

Mr. Allen helped me a while back on my rcbs 10-10 scale and really think I/we helped my scale but Ive moved on to an A&D FX 120i and dandy trickler since then... I put the 10-10 back for a spare but still get it out every once in awhile.... Best I remember good sharp knife edge and good bearing was one of the more important items to look at if you want the best you can get out of your balance beam scale..... I even had bracket for iphone to magnify pointer and it was at eye level, you would be suprized how much that helped me lol....
